Day Four

Four days ago, Cory Hall surprised me after work, carried me out to Sweetheart Circle in the rain, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.
Everything since that moment has been a total blur. A totally exciting blur.
As soon as I gathered my breath after the proposal, we began calling relatives. I started with a Facetime call to my parents and sister- nearly toppling over with excitement in the parking lot. Five hours later, we had contacted almost everyone we were related to. These were probably the most exciting phone calls either of us has ever had.

That night we didn't eat, we didn't plan, we just shared our excitement with everyone.
The next day, I was so eager to show off my beautiful, perfect engagement ring. I told our proposal story at least a dozen times, and I didn't care who got tired of hearing it. I was on cloud nine. I took a test that morning and truly had no idea what answers I was even bubbling in. Total bliss.
That evening, we had every intention of going to the library to work for hours and instead ended up at Barnes & Noble looking at wedding planning books. We decided on the one that came with the polka dot tote bag, naturally.
Yesterday evening Cory and I went to one of our favorite date night spots, The Boiling Shrimp, and sketched wedding plans on the paper table cover. Silly moments like those, scribbling names and drawings on a restaurant table while scarfing down shrimp and fries, are the kinds of memories that are already making this journey so special.
I am so excited to be on this adventure with Cory. We have so much to look forward to. I know I'm going to be an anxious mess, trying to plan our graduations, finish school, look for a job and plan our wedding, but I know he'll keep us both mellow and remind me that this experience is supposed to be fun.
I'm so thankful to have the balance we have, and I can't wait to share our stories with everyone along the way!
